Synopsis
Domino tells the story of twelve-year-old LUCA, whose world feels like it’s falling apart. After losing her father two years ago, she now stands at her mother’s funeral, feeling numb. As per her mother’s wishes, she moves in temporarily with her Uncle MICHAEL in the small town of Schrozberg — until a foster family is found for her back in Freiburg.
At her new school, Luca struggles to fit in, but everything changes when she stumbles upon an abandoned cinema and befriends SAMUEL and DESTINY. Together, they discover that buffalo breeder THOMAS is sabotaging the cinema with a fake rat infestation to buy the land for his restaurant. Determined to save it, the kids decide to make a film that will captivate the town—and even convince pop star NOAH to star in it.
As they dive into filmmaking, friendships deepen, and Luca begins to feel at home. But when setbacks threaten their movie and her chance to stay, she must find the strength to keep going. With the town’s unexpected support, the film premieres successfully, saving the cinema and helping Luca realize she’s found a new family with Michael — who decides to adopt her.
